So...ice skating didn't turn out as well as I thought it was going to. The ice was very odd in the morning; my guess is because of the sun. Anyways, the ice was VERY hard to skate on, and because of that, I fell....HARD. I smacked my head into the ice, and 4 days later I've still got a bump on my head the size of a golf ball (and that's with the swelling gone DOWN!) It's gonna be pretty bad for the next couple weeks while it's healing, but no blood, and no concussion. I got bunches of hugs though. Glenn even got my fall on video but none of us can stand to watch it again. Cam was super nice with the whole me falling after 20 minutes of skating thing.
After skating, I went home, ice pack in hand, and got ready to bake pies with my daddy. Yes...I still baked the pies. It turned out pretty well. I was mostly standing in one spot and we had the Christmas music blaring, so that was fun. My head just hurt for the rest of the day: the nausea was to come on Thanksgiving, the next day.
Thanksgiving "eve" I went over to my aunts and got to read a lot. I really like "In Cold Blood." It's a good read, however some of the sentences are kind-of run-on. I don't necessarily mind it, but it's just not like the other books I read. I'm about 20 pages from where I'm supposed to be by Monday, but that's not a problem. I'll just read this morning while Mom and Glenn are reading the paper.
Thanksgiving Day was pretty interesting. I drove my car with Dad up to Aunt Sharon's house. Gotta tell you, I wasn't really looking forward to being with a bunch of people. I think it's just because I really wasn't feeling well that day. But, besides all that, Thanksgiving was pretty good. I mostly ate leftovers and then played Wii Music with Mom and Glenn when I got home. THAT was hilarious, and I shall have to post a video of it on Facebook.
The next couple days just consisted of reading "In Cold Blood" like a maniac and working on the gingerbread yacht. It's turning out pretty well. I really do think we're going to win again, but Glenn's not so sure because we have 17 "competitors." What he doesn't know is that those "competitors" are probably 5-6 year olds....like last year.
Yesterday I went to work and cleaned. That was a little gross but we got a lot done. The bakery sure does need a fresh coat of paint though. I'm still trying to convince Karen on that one. Then when I came home, I played Wii for a while, read for a bit, and then took a shower. When I got out of the shower, I read a little more. Then, I went downstairs and "helped" (by sitting on the ottoman with Oreo) put up the Christmas tree with Glenn and Cam. Cam came for dinner, and we had STEW! It was pretty good...except there was a stick in it (you had to be there.) I took some funny videos that night though. But after Cam left, we had some pie and clementines, and watched Criminal Minds.
And now we're back up to today. We're Christmas decorating today! I know I know...it's still November Emily! But NO. Christmas is like my favorite holiday ever, and NOT because of the presents. Just the general atmosphere. Snow doesn't really hurt either :p But that's basically it. OH! It's Brianna's birthday today! So happy birthday to her! If she reads this...which I don't know. Oh well.
Hugs and Cake,
Emily

And I'll be happy, Christmas...once again.
Hello People! GUESS WHAT I DISCOVERED?! 30 Days until the big day! That's right! CHRISTMAS!
P.S.-Sorry if I'm a little too enthusiastic.
So I've got about a week to catch you up on! Here we go:
WELL, the night that I wrote the last blog was awesomee. Glenn and I went out to dinner, and that was pretty great. I think my mom came home the following night....but I'm not sure.
So then, throughout the rest of the week I basically just went to school and did homework. I had to write a huge (well not really that huge) essay for AP Lang. That went pretty well and I was confident when I handed it in, but who knows? Mrs. Hott will probably hate it! Then Friday of last week (the day before Thanksgiving vacation) I cooked souflee(sp?) in my culinary class. It's not even worth discussing. So many mistakes were made, but NOT by the students....
That Friday night I went ice skating with a bunch of people. I taught myself how to ice skate backwards this time! I'm determined to become a really good skater by the time the season is over. Saturday I went to work, and then got down and dirty with the gingerbread boat for the competition. Glenn and I were very frustrated by the end of the day, but we got something together. (We ended up covering the whole thing in white fondant, and that's the stage we're at now.) Sunday we went to O.C. (Ocean City for you non-Marylanders). That was REALLY fun, I wish I could post videos onto here because I took all the clips throughout the day and combined them. Somehow we're going to get it onto Facebook so there's at least that.
Monday Glenn and I worked on the gingerbread yacht again, and it's going pretty well in my mind. Glenn hates it though....
Tuesday I went back to work for a couple hours and then came home. Glenn's son Cam was visiting so that was really nice to see him. We're actually gonna go ice skating today! WOOT! It's super exciting.
So today besides ice skating with Cam, I'm going to bake many desserts for my dad's family's Thanksgiving tomorrow, and 1 pie for home for Glenn. It's gonna be super fun because my daddy is baking with me and it's always nice to spend time with him. I'm spending the night over at his domain tonight so that should also be pretty great. I want to take Winston (my large stuffed walrus) but I'm concerned that Parker (their Lab puppy) might get to him...but I can't sleep without Winston. I guess I'll have to be very sneaky.
That's just about it!
Hugs and Cake,
Emily

Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire
Hey Guys! I'm super sorry that I haven't been on here in a while. Truthfully, I forgot about it for a while; I've been so busy with homework and school schtuff.
But enough of the groveling. We last left of the week of PSATs, so we'll pick up from there.
The PSAT went well, I think I did much better on the math section. The PSAT math class helped me a lot and I definitely think I improved my scores on that section. English hasn't even been hard, so that was a breeze. After the first marking period, I switched from the Math SAT prep class to the English class. It's going to definitely be much more work, but I feel like I'm going to do really well on the actual SAT when I decide to take it.
Also, a couple days after the PSAT, I got involved in a school thing! I helped decorate the homecoming wall with some friends of mine! It was really fun and the wall turned out much better than last year. I wish I could post pictures on this blog, but sadly I have not been able to figure that out. But it turned out really well and overall we got second place out of all the grades, which is good because the Seniors wall was....AH-MAY-ZING. It was so ridiculously cool. I also decided to not go to Homecoming; I saw no point in it. I'm kind of glad I didn't go anyways because people said it sucked in the gym, so that's good at least.
October was just pretty much a busy month. Homework started to pick up, and then lessen when we started reading a book in AP Lang. We read 1984 by George Orwell; I liked it, but some people decided to read it over sparknotes (not a good idea.) But after we finished that, I started to get back into reading the Narnia series, and right now I'm trying to finish the 6th book before we start a new book in AP Lang (In Cold Blood by Truman Capote.) AP Calc hasn't been horrible because I'm starting to get used to the style of teaching, and how to study for the class. We just took a huge test on derivatives and all this other stuff, and I thought I did well. I just checked online though, and I got a 77%. It kinda sucks, but honestly, that's probably a high score for the class...at least I hope so.
Apparently, there is a teacher strike at my school so homework levels had been down for a bit. But now all the teachers decided that they're going to pile on the homework until we can't see above the millions of books and papers to write. I'm okay with it though because I usually get my homework done in a timely manner.
Also, recently Karen (my boss) came in and talked to my Culinary and Hospitality Management class. It was super fun, and on Monday we're making the same recipe that Karen made. We're also supposed to learn how to make pie crust, but I already know how so that's not very exciting. I just hope the teacher teaches us the right way...she's not very knowledgable in my opinion.
I think we're just about up to the current stuff. We're up to Friday of last week (Today being Sunday.) Friday I went ice skating in Quiet Waters Park. It was super fun, and I met a bunch of new people. The night was so nice. I was going to take some video footage of it(more info on why later) but my video camera somehow broke. No fear though! I got my report card money, combined it with some of my work paychecks, and bought a new Flip Ultra HD camera! I LOVE it. It's so much fun to use!
Now, I wanted to take video footage because I've decided to do like a "video scrapbook" of my life. Basically, I'm going to take a video camera to the fun things I do and sometimes to school and take video to remember the certain event. It's gonna be great :) I'm super excited to start working on it.
Today, I worked on homework for a couple hours. I also found a radio station which is commercial free and already playing straight Christmas music. It was so exciting! So after I finished homework, I got some Christmas and Hannakuh(sp?) coloring pages and colored for an hour or so. Now, I'm writing this blog, and in about a half hour I'm going out to dinner with Glenn...whenever he decides to get up from his nap.
And that's it up to the minute.
Hugs and Cake,
Emily

I wanna get back, get back with you.
Hey everyone! Listen, well technically read 'cause I'm not speaking, but you know what I mean. Anyways, I'm sorry I haven't been able to get on this for a while. Tell you the truth, I forgot about it for a while, and then I just didn't have time. School's been super hectic, so I'm either constantly working on homework, or not home. So I have a bunch of news to tell you!
WOW! I haven't been on here since a few weeks BEFORE school started! I'll have to get you updated on all things Broadneck. Okay, well the first couple days were terrifying because I had to get a new schedule and I had to find my new classes, meet new teachers etc. It was pretty scary, but eventually I got used to it and made a mental map of the best way to get to my classes. Classes have been going really well over the past couple months. I'm slowing getting the hang of AP Language; it's gonna be a LONG year in that class. AP Calculus is going well; my teacher is super cool, though also REALLY intimidating. I feel sort of bad because whenever I need help, I go to last year's teacher, not him...but oh well. Now here's the bombshell: I dropped American Sign Language. I know...I have such a passion for it but I had a good reason. The ASL III class was stuck into an ASL II class because only THREE students signed up! It just wasn't what I expected, so I left and switched into a SAT Prep class which is helping a lot. I'm in the math section now and after semester break I'll be going into the English half. The math teacher is super nice, and although we don't do a lot of work, I'm really learning a lot of things to help me pass the PSAT and the SAT. (The PSAT is on WEDNESDAY. I'll be doing practice tests this weekend.)
So that's all things school, besides all the friend drama, but I highly doubt you want to hear about that. OH remember all the stuff about me not being able to run for class president?! WELL now I can bite my thumb at Ms. Stupidface-not-allowy-pants. My administrative homeroom elected me, yes ME, to be their SGA (Student Gov't Association) representative! It's super exciting, and I'm finally getting involved in my school stuff. Homecoming is coming up next week ,though I'm not going. I really see a point in going, it's not that fun...for me at least.
Also, I'm involved in an organization called Raising for Reasons, which is a charitable organization. It's pretty awesome, we've only had one meeting, but it seems like it's gonna be a great year.
Next is what I've been doing currently. I'm still working at the bakery in Annapolis, and selling cakes of my own on the side. Still deciding on a major, but I'm leaning back toward culinary. I'm actually interested in the "food science" part of the culinary world. It seems pretty intriguing( sp?)
Also, I just recently finishing Driver's Ed. Thank god too. I was DYING in the class. SO boring...but at least my instructor was pretty cool, and I met a friend so I wasn't a complete loner. All I have left is my three in car driving sessions, and then I'm taking my test in January!
I think we're up to recent things! Well, this week was pretty good, but I'm more excited for SPIRIT WEEK next week. I believe the days are:
Monday- Twin Day (my best friend EMILY refuses to be my TWIN! what's up with that?!)
Tuesday-
Wednesday- Pajama Day (which also coincides with PSAT day, which is AWESOME)
Thursday- Class Color Day (my class has an orange that can melt your eyes)
Friday- NO SCHOOL!
Saturday- Homecoming parade and DANCE
It's gonna be an awesome week. Plus we do "Homecoming walls" at my school where the school has a theme and then each class is given an aspect. Our theme this year is like modern disney, and my class got Alice in Wonderland! How cool is that?!
Lastly, I went to a ZUMBA last night. I couldn't believe how much dancing these people can do. It's insane. I had to sit out for a while and rest my poor knees. Anyways, after that Kelly and I went on the treadmill/stairmaster and I burned 100 calories. I'm gonna try and be healthier...but we'll see.
This weekend is gonna be awesome because I'm making a prototype of my gingerbread contest entry for this year (hint: it's a yacht!) Then, on Sunday, Mom, Glenn, and I are going to a pumpkin patch to go get this years pumpkin! I'm also going to try SCULPTING pumpkins instead of carving. I'm hoping we're gonna get one to carve too because....I don't wanna screw up and then have a crappy pumpkin for this year.
Tell me which I should be for Halloween: Dr Jeckl/MRS. Hyde or TINKERBELL.
That's it for now, I'll try once a week to find some time to send out some updates!
Hugs and Cake,
Emily

August 15, 2010
It's times like these I think of you, and wonder if you'll ever think of me...
Hey everyone! I've got exciting things to tell you! First off, remember the predicitons I made about The Next Food Network Star? Well, here were my predictions:
Winner: Paul
Finalists: Herb, Aria, and Dzintra.
WELL, I guess I hadn't learned enough about each person. Throughout the 9 weeks, everyone progressed. Dzintra unfortunately was eliminated the FIRST WEEK! It was ridiculous. Paul, Herb and Aria made it to about the 7th week together, and then Paul was eliminated. Herb and Aria made it to the second to last week along with Aarti and Tom (who I was SO not rooting for). Anyways, Aria was eliminated the week before the finale, and I just watched the finale tonight. It was a pretty interesting fight for the shows, and the pilots that everyone shot were very impressive, but in the words of Bobby Flay "only one can become the next food network star." So Aarti won! I'm excited to see her show, Aarti Paarti because she's Indian and she's going to show America how to blend Indian cuisine into common American dishes! Glenn and I are quite exicted to see how it goes.
Next, I went to Ocean City with Emily a couple of days ago and that was pretty fun. We all remembered to put sunscreen on, but Em and I still got pretty burned on our backs. We both also made substantial progress on our AP Calculus assignments which is good. After she had her meeting with the tutor on Thursday, we agreed that she'd let me know how to do some of the problems we could NOT figure out for the life of us.
Contact lenses are going well, and I've gotten to a point where I can get them in and out with ease. If you've noticed any different style of writing in this post, it's because I just read this book called Bird by Bird, written by Anne Lamott. It was for an AP Language assignment this summer, but all in all it was a really good book. I think partly because I'm interested in writing, I found a lot of the topics very interesting. Driving is also going well, yet I've still got to sign up for Driver's Ed, which I hope to do soon. I've got my 60 hours already! I just need to practice a little more night driving, and driving in "adverse conditions" and I'll be good to go! I discovered recently that I can back up my driveway, and for those of you who aren't familiar with my driveway, that's quite a feat to do. Most of my friends parents just drop my friends at the top so they don't have to back up the drive. It's super long and curvy, with woods on both sides, so it's a bit challenging. I've also improved on my parking skills which is a very important skill to have, so ya know.
There's a lot happening in next week: It's Sunday the 15th now so here goes-
Sunday the 22nd- I go to see Train and the Backstreet Boys with my dad!! It's at Pier 6 in Baltimore, and I'm super excited!
Tuesday the 24th- School starts! OMG! Summer has gone by so fast, and I know I sound like a giant nerd, but I'm excited to be going back to school. I like the challenges it poses, and I'm looking forward to talking to my guidance counselor about careers other than culinary(I'll talk about that desicion later).
First of all, here's the reason I won't be writing a lot during the school year this fall:
Classes- Business Law, AP Language and Composition, AP Calculus, Honors Physics, Honors U.S. History, Culinary and Hospitality Management, ASL Independent Study III, and Introduction to Teaching. What a load huh?!
Anyways, here's the news about the "other than culinary" careers. Now don't get me wrong, Culinary is a very interesting and very intriging major to study in college, but I just don't think I have the same passion. I was talking to my mother today, and I'm considering jobs in the government as a consultant, or a business major, or law? I'm not quite sure, but one of my major picks would be a CIA or FBI Special Agent. I know I sound like a broken record. "Being a secret agent would be so cool!" Honestly, I've done my research and it seems like a really promising career, not just for the excitement but for the challenges that working in the government proposes. I'm looking forward to graduating, attending college, and entering into a summer internship at the CIA HQ in D.C.
The more I think about it, the more I go crazy! I'm going to be a junior in high school in a couple days! Oh ma god! I'm excited, but also a little bit scared. I'm hoping to apply for scholarships adn internships for the summer, and for future college adventures. I'm also going to apply for NHS...again. This time I'm getting in! I don't care if they reject me! I'm GOING. I think that's all I have for you guys this week, so...yeah.
Hugs and Cake,
Emily

Emily

Da NA. Da NA. DANADANADANADA
In case you were wondering, the song on the title is the famous JAW theme. Go ahead, put the tune in your head and read it again. I'll wait.....The reason for that is it's SHARK WEEK! OMG! It's my 3rd week and I'm ready to be blown away by the shark-i-ness. So that's why.
Ready? Okay, here's the delio. I know I haven't been on here much lately, but I believe the last time I left off I was getting ready to go to the beach with my dad? Let me check.....Yes. Okay, so here goes: On the days we went to the beach in Ocean City, my dad and I had a lot of fun. The first day, I drove down in my car with him, and then we went straight to the beach. My dad got sunburned cause he was stupid and didn't listen when I told him to put sunscreen on....should've listened. Tsk Tsk. Anyways, so we spent some time on the boardwalk, got dinner, much ice cream, played some mini golf, and then went back to the hotel to relax and watch some TV. The next day, we decided to not go to the beach and we got these all day passes so we could play ALL the mini golf courses in the area, so that was really fun. I won 4 games out of 6, including the game we played the day before. Also, I won 2 of the free game things (You know, when there's a 19th hole and you have to like shoot your ball in the tigers mouth, or inside a clam, etc. Anyways I won 2 free games that day).
After the beach, I didn't do much that I can think of off the top of my head. Although I had the best birthday present the other day. My mother bought tickets for her, Glenn, my Aunt, and me to go into New York City by train for the day, AND see the Addams Family on Broadway! The show was AWESOME! The soundtrack is amazing, AND the leads were.....NATHAN LANE AND BEBE NUERWERTH(Sorry Bebe, I don't know how to spell your name). The show itself was just amazing in all aspects, AND we were FRONT row. Like literally FIRST row. It was the best. We also explored around NY and looked in Times Square and F.A.O. Shwartz (this HUGE toy store) and the Apple store. It was a pretty awesome day! The cool thing was, I didn't know what we were doing 'til we got on the train that morning! My mom had managed to keep it a surprise since like June! OMG right?! I knoww.
Sooo after that, I spent the day yesterday watching Shark Week shows and learning about cool things on the Discovery channel. It was pretty amazing. Yesterday night, I went to Red Lobster with my dad, and I had the best fish I ever had in my entire life probably. It was a tilapia with a spicy soy broth. It was amazing! I had an awesome salad before, some really good rolls, and some cheesecake afterwards. It was just a good dinner all around. OH! I bought some jackets at the GAP in NY and I'm super excited to wear them to school. I've been wearing one all day today mostly.
So today, I went to work, which was pretty fun cause it was a laid back day. Then when Glenn picked me up, we went to Giant for some stuff for dinner, and then KFC for lunch. I had a double down, and MAN! those things are huge! Two peices of chicken, two peices of cheese, and bacon. Amazing sandwich, but HUGE to eat. I'm not sure I'll be empty enough for dinner! So THEN, after Glenn and I got home we decided to blow up the gingerbread house we made last December that's just been sitting in our living room waiting to be blown to bits. We had an ordeal trying to inflict damage with small firecrackers and bottle rockets, so finally, we just decided to drop a cement block on it, and that was that. Then I came inside, put some anti-itch stuff on my legs cause I was eaten alive outside, and sat down to write a blog, which I am doing now. So basically, I'm caught up. I had two major things to tell you guys about though.
1: I'm planning a surprise party for my puppy! Greta is like my sister, and she's turning 12 on the 7th of August! My friend and I are going to buy balloons and an ice cream cake for the people, and some stuff for our two dogs. It's gonna be a blast, but don't tell Greta! SHHH! It's a surprise!
2: PLOT. For those of you tuning in now, no. This is not about story events in which one leads into the other untimately getting to a resolution. PLOT stands for Project Lose an Olsen Twin, in which I am attempting to become more fit, along with Philip DeFranco and the DeFranco nation! I haven't been able to do much with it, because honestly, I'm just too lazy. So...I'll try harder. I promise.
Okay 3 major events. I lied. Get over it! Haha SO I got contacts! It's super exciting because it's so much easier to drive and watch t.v. and generally see things across the room without glasses.
Welll.....that's it for now I think.

July 23, 2010
I am what I am. If you don't like it, get with someone else.
HEY GUYS! Look, I know I haven't been on here in a while, and I'm SO sorry. I just got wrapped up in a lot of things recently (so much I actually went out and bought a calendar). I've gotten complaints from my Uncle and Step-dad about not writing, so this is just to prove them wrong. I'm gonna write a lot, so that you guys can all catch up on the recent schtuff(yes this is spelled right, it's pronounced sh-tuff) that I've been doing.
Here we go: Well, the last time I wrote was.....OMG! I haven't written in SO long! Okay well here's the rest of the Texas trip in a bubble. We worked a lot, we ate bad food, we stood in puddles for days, and I skipped the last day because I was so tired. I caught up on season 1 of NCIS while everyone was working their butts off in the booth. I actually fell asleep for a couple hours one day while I was working (I was still paid well, which is nice). Anyways, we finished I think...July 4th was the last day.
July 4th: After a grueling day at work, and the tearing down of the booth, and the yelling and screaming customers who just wanted to chuck money at you; We all got dressed up and went out to dinner to the restaurant where Mom and Glenn and I went out the first night (when the power went out) Anyways, I got a salad which was really nice and flavorful. After a leg cramp ordeal with Aunt Diane, we went out onto the freeway, headed for Fiesta, TX for fireworks. They started before we got there, but luckily, we could stop right on the shoulder of the freeway and watch them there. 15 minutes and many fireworks later, we headed home, and after a quick trip to Walmart, headed to bed.
July 5th: We headed into Austin today. It was super super hot, and even though everyone wanted to shop, we didn't stay that long. We went to a couple stores, got some ice cream, and then got back in the cars to go home. One really cool store we went in was the costume store; It must be a nightmare to do inventory in that store. There was SO much stuff, and I could've spent hours in it. When we were leaving, we decided to get some authentic Texas BBQ at this little shack that used to be an iron factory. It was REALLY good, but my Coke was flat :( but otherwise it was cool. Some of the other workers at another booth came with us to Austin, and then came back to our house for a rousing game of Apples to Apples.
July 6th: MY SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY! We got up a little early, around 9 or so, and hung around for a while. Mom and Glenn and Allen got me a birthday cake from the grocery store (which wasn't as well decorated as I would've expected but oh well). The only thing that was disappointing then was that the ice cream cake had NO crispies in the middle! NONE! It was insane. It's a sad day in Texas when ice cream cake has no crispies. Anyways, we all piled into the car to head up to SEA WORLD! YEAH! Who knew they had one in San Antonio?! Not me! So we drove about 30 minutes to Sea World, and waited in a short line to get in. After getting in we immediately went on a water-ride called Trip to Atlantis (or something similar) and then went to see the Shamu show. It was really cool and I cannot believe the size or gracefulness of those whales. I'm gonna try and post some pictures on here, when my computer decides to let me. Anyways, Allen had to go to the airport, so we decided to get re-entry into SeaWorld so that we could take him, and get lunch later. We drove him to the airport, and went to Sonic. There was a whole ordeal there, but long story short: I rode home with no pants on, and we got free sundaes. Later in the day, when it cooled down a bit, we all went back to SeaWorld, and Auntie and I got on some rollercoasters while Mom and Glenn went exploring. We all met at the Beluga show for the end to a perfect day. As we were leaving, I went into the gift shop, where I found the most perfect walrus stuffed animal whom I bought and promptly named John Winston Lennon (after the real one) and I call him Winston for short. He's helped me through a lot already, but more on that later.
July 7th: We left for Missouri today, I think...Anyways we(Mom, Glenn, Auntie, and I) drove about 13 hours to get all the way to Missouri. We got into the hotel and slept for the night. There's not much to say about this day.
July 8th: Now the fun starts; Auntie and Mom and Uncle-y/Cousin Jesse went out to the Lake House for the family reunion early. Glenn and I hung around at the hotel for a while to catch up on sleep, and hopefully regain some sanity to be around people again. We finally arrived around 4 or so, and greeted the family, as well as the MANY fireworks that were shot off constantly. It was a nice night, complete with a pontoon boat ride in the rain :)
July 9th: This was our first full day at the Lake house. I tried water-skiing today, to no avail. The cousins make it look a LOT easier than it is. I also went out sailing with Auntie and Uncle Todd, who were very impressed with my sailing skills which was very cool. I did study at UKSA(United Kingdom Sailing Academy) after all, but let's not tell them that I was sick the day we were supposed to study sailing (shhh!). I also went tubing and swimming and a whole plethera of other things today. We got all dried off at night, and ate dinner (walking tacos, which are VERY good, and I encourage people to try them). After a short but very LOUD fireworks display, Mom and Glenn and I went back to the hotel, where I had a mental breakdown from being so homesick. I just hugged Winston and talked to my dad on the phone, and got through it.
July 10th: This was our last day at the Lake. I didn't go swimming today, but I spent a nice quiet day working on puzzles on the porch swing. It was very pleasant, but I couldn't WAIT to leave that day and get home!
July 11th: This was our last day of driving, and it went rather well except for some traffic. OH! By the way, if anyone knows what a "silver alert" is, please comment it, so I'll also share that knowledge with you.
Well that's the end of the "day-by-day" posts, because a lot of the other stuff I have to talk about is just random. Over the past couple weeks since I've been home, I've been working a lot. I think Karen's finally giving me a bit more freedom in the bakery and she doesn't feel like she has to watch me all the time, which makes me happy because it gives me confidence in her eyes. Just this past week, I've handed out tons of business cards, gotten two orders, and delivered one of those orders! It's very exciting to know that my business is finally taking off and that I'm doing a good job in those cakes that I put out. I don't feel the need to elaborate on the cakes that I'm making because they're not THAT important. My dad and I have been hanging out a lot which is really good, and we're going to OC on the 26th and 27th of July for some time on the beach.
Today, July 23rd, I worked in the morning, and then around 5 my dad picked me up to run some errands. I drove from my mom's house, to Borders Book Store in Annapolis ALL by myself, considering DAD was on the phone, when he SHOULD have been helping me (not like I can't do it by myself anyways) So, we went to Borders, I got the book I needed for school, and then we went over to Staples, so I could get a calendar to finally be able to write down everything that I need to remember! It's gonna be a HUGE help, I can feel it.
LAST THING (you know, until tomorrow...) I'm going to join in with one of my favorite youtube stars Philip DeFranco in his Project: Lose an Olsen Twin(PLOT). Yes I know it sounds silly, but actually it's all about eating healthier and just getting yourself back into shape. I'm going to follow his vlog, and I'll post a link at the bottom of this blog in case you'd like to join in too! He's a great inspiration and I hope he also inspires you to work on fitness also! So, the healthier eating, and exercise starts tomorrow, which will include a short run, some pushups/crunches, and then some workouts on the wii, along with a Bowling game or two. I'll be posting updates on the PLOT, which will include updates on myself, but also on Philip and on my friends who may want to join in. Let me know if you're going to support him, and myself, and you'll recieve a prize! ....maybe...probably not. But you'll be more fit, which is a prize in and of itself. I'll see ya tomorrow! Hope you enjoyed the apology blog, and all the new stuff that will be happening soon!
Hugs and Cake,
Emily

July 3, 2010
There she goes, there she goes again!
Hello everyone! The past couple days have been eventful ones, which is good. I think I left off at...Day 2, which was the day we picked up Aunt Diane and went it to Taco Taco. Okay! So we're onto Day 3.
Day 3: This was our first day working in the booth at the convention. Have I mentioned it? This convention was the 75th Anniversary of AA, so we're selling merchandise from mom's store. It was a pretty good day, REALLY tiring though. My feet hurt so bad after every day we worked, along with everyone else's. The neighbor booths around us were very nice and we all had a bunch of fun getting set up. Today was just a "get used to the surroundings and set up your store" day, so that's it.
Day 4: This day...I think I stayed home. I'm forgetting a lot of the dates here, but I believe mom let me stay home this day to relax and regain my foot arches once again. They had a good day at the store, however it rained a LOT while they were there. Actually the first day, we got the merchandise out, then it started to rain! So we had to scramble to grab everything and get it to a dry place, and our station still ended up flooded by the end of Day 4.
Day 5: Day 5 was yesterday, July 2nd, I believe. I went back to work today, and since it was Friday it was reallyy busy. We were constantly taking charges and cash and our money belts were so messed up by the end of the day. It rained some today, but not as much as the day before. A little of the merchandise, including some of our shoes, were ruined by the rain, but we didn't lose too much. OH! At the beginning of the day, I was harshly insulted by a customer! She had bought some merchandise, and gave me a large bill, so I made the change best I could(I've never been very good at it), and it was wrong. She counted it by herself, and replied "You're short changing me, do you know what country you're in?" Now I had no idea how to respond, and so I just gave her the change she was asking for, hoping she would just GO AWAY. Now every time I see a woman that looks like her pass by, I cringe inside, because she was really mean! When I bent down to get her a bag, I was almost teary eyed; I wasn't expecting to be insulted! By the end of this day, I was almost sure I wasn't coming in for Day 6....
Day 6: But I did. Day 6 is today, July 3rd. Today was VERY eventful. This morning we all got up and shuffled into the car, and went to work. Once we got there people flooded in. We had so many customers, it was like all of the previous days combined. Since we were one of the booths with the most diversity, and the only ones with the spinner rings and the sobriety year pins, we stayed pretty busy throughout the day. Once everything started winding down...around 11 PM, we started to get a little punchy... Also, there were crickets EVERYWHERE! They were attacking! It scared me so bad, I couldn't even bear to sit in my chair for fear of crickets jumping on my head again. They were creeepyyyy. Anyways, around 12:15 AM we headed out to the car..which is when things started to get weird. Mom was already overtired, but I don't understand the rest of the night. First, when we were all in the car, Aunt Diane realized that she hadn't taken her money belt off yet, so she was standing outside the car untying it. She had one leg inside the car, and mom started to pull away! It was insane! We all were freaking... Mom stopped, Aunt Diane finished untying her belt, and got into the car. We paid for parking that day, and headed out onto the streets. On the way home we had some laughs talking about the many things that happened that day. Then as we got closer to home, we were on a side street, at a red light. Mom started inching forward (the light STILL red) and she just slowly...creeps through the red light. Her justification: "I got tired of waiting! It seems like we were stuck in a vortex of time, and I HAD to get out!" I told her, when I run a red light, that's going to be my excuse. We all were laughing so hard, and Aunt Diane and Mom were 'squeaking' (a traditional family noise for this side of the family). So we got back to the house, still laughing and we all get out of the car, get our stuff and make our way inside. Well, I'm trying to get out of the door, and mom presses the automatic close door button! I had to narrowly escape being crushed by the door, even though it would've just bounced back. Anyways, we all got inside, and now I'm sitting in our room with Aunt Diane and we both have our laptops, typing away!
That's all I have for you now, stay tuned for further updates!

I don't know good song lyrics right now...so I'm making this one up! HEY!
Sorry about the title, I know I know...it's horrible.
Good news! My aunt arrived today from California and we get to share a room! I'm excited! :D
Actually, as I am writing, I find myself in her prescence as she unpacks her clothes. She almost started to be in panic mode and just chuck everything into the closet, but she calmed down....thankfully.
Okayy...well since I wrote a blog yesterday there's not much to tell you. I'll start with last night.
Last night: Glenn fixed us a wonderful stir fry after spending what seemed like HOURS in the Whole Foods here. Then JUST as we sat down to dinner with a wonderful ambiance of rolling thunder off the prairie and airplanes down the street, the power goes out. It was wonderful. We just all started laughing....well I laughed. Mom and Glenn just sat there in annoyed silence. I'm not even going to TALK about the UPS store earlier that day...it was a mess. Anyways, we sat in the dark for a while (luckily the sun hadn't gone down yet) and we played Uno until we couldn't tell the difference between blue and green. ("We" meaning my mother) Well...after we sat in the dark some more, we decided to make a trip up to the frozen yogurt place, but for some reason we didn't end up there. We ended up in Wal-Mart looking for flashlights and batteries. We figured if we bought some, the power would be back on when we got home. It wasn't. So we watched the last episode of Big Bang Theory and went to sleep. I went back into my room for a night of solitude and reading. Unknowingly, I settled into bed for a heart attack. Just as I was nicely settled, the lights decided to flash, along with the house alarm for a couple seconds. It scared the CRAP outta me. I yelled for my mother to come in and sit with me and we ended up taking my mattress into my mom's room.
Ya know what?! Lemonade from Simply Lemonade...is a PAIN IN MY SOLARPLEXUS. I went to go get a drink of it, after buying a huge bottle, only to discover pulp! I ended up having to strain each and every cup of that lemonade through a hotel cup with toothpick punctures in the bottom. 5 glasses and a bad attitude later, I know have a pulp free bottle of lemonade and it's pleasant again.
Today we went to Taco Taco, which apparently has the BEST TACO IN AMERICA, according to the Food Network. Believe me, it lived up to it's name. We went there for lunch after picking up Aunt Diane from the airport and got lunch. It was SO good.....
Well. My AutoSave is failing right now..so I better do something before I lose this post. It was written June 29th, but won't be posted until June 30th most likely. Just so ya'll know.
OH! I got me a cowboy hat! It's exciting!
That's all I have for ya right now,

I've Got Spurs that Jingle Jangle Jingle!
Hey Mickey! Look! I'm a cowboy!
Yes Yes, you read right. I'm in Texas. Mom, Glenn and I drove all the way from Maryland to Texas! I'll give ya the play by play.
Why we're here: Well, it's the 75th Anniversary of AA(Alcoholics Anonymous) and my mother owns Celebrate Recovery, which is a recovery, sort of gift store. It's really cool. It's in Severna Park. Anyways, it's the anniversary and there's a HUGE conference in San Antonio, which we're here to sell things at...if that phrase makes any sense.
How long did it take?!- It took about 26 hours, not including stops and hotel overnights(more on those later)
Is it hot?- YES. Oh Ma God. It's like 111 degrees here, literally. We just got home and we're staying in a house about 7.2 miles from the conference center. I'm sitting comfortably in my room, under a fan, on a squishy bed. It's very nice.
Okay, so the hotels. The first day we drove more than we thought we would. We drove about 10 hours I think, and then stopped in a little podunk town called Mt. Juliet (which according to the touchy hotel manager, is becoming "popular"). In the morning we stopped for breakfast at Cracker Barrel, and then various McDonalds, Steak'n'Shakes, and gas stations along the way. I read most of my book, and ended up finishing it in the car there. I'm actually almost finished with the one I started Day 2 of driving. Anyways, we drove a lot, and then we stopped in Tennesee. We had a nice dinner...of Steak'n'Shake I believe and then went to find a hotel. After trying MANY hotels, only to find that most had weddings and birthday parties, we finally found a Sleep Inn closer to Nashville. We spent the night there.
Day 2: On day 2, we woke up around...7:30 I guess. After fighting for the shower, we finally all got clean. Then we went downstairs to the lobby and the teeny tiny "customer lounge" for breakfast. We ended up eating in the lobby. I had a nice bagel and cream cheese. We got back on the road, and I continued reading. Again, we got about 10 hours down and settled into a Comfort Inn that night. We ate at the Black-Eyed Pea, and I reallyy hope we get to eat there again. Our waiter, Colin, was SUPER nice and really cool. He was younger so I guess that's to be expected. I had a really nice chicken tenderloin plate with green beans and mac'n'cheese. It was delish! I really wish they had a BlackEyed Pea down here in San Antonio, but alas, all we have is Taco Taco and WhatABurger, which we MUST try! After settling into the hotel and trying to combat the OVEN that was our room, we got some sleep.
Day 3/Today: We woke up today around...8:30,well, I did. Mom and Glenn were up MUCH earlier than I was, but I'm 16, and this is MY summer vacation! Anyways, they went to breakfast while I got dressed and then after I ate the muffin they brought back(which was dry and hard to eat) we got back on the road. I got to drive today and I discovered the joys of cruise control, and the pains of Texas drivers. It was pretty fun. After about an hour of driving, we stopped at Cracker Barrel, yet again(they're EVERYWHERE here) and got lunch. Our waitress today was very odd and she talked REALLY loud. It was a bit offputting. After lunch we hit the restrooms and decided to shop for a little bit. That's where we met our new member of the family, a RAINBOW stuffed Armadillo WebKinz whom we named Colin(after our waiter at the BlackEyed Pea.) We couldn't decide on a name so his full name is Colin Bucksnort. Bucksnort was a town that we passed on our way...I know it's odd. Well, I drove about 4 hours today and after a very scary traffic jam in downtown San Antonio, we arrived at the house.
The House: The house is super nice. It's about 5 minutes from downtown, and 7 minutes from the local plaza. It's got a garage, which opens up into the laundry, which goes into the kitchen. The front door opens into a living room ,which also extends into the kitchen. From there, the dining room is straight ahead, and then there are two wings of the house. On one side, there's Aunt Diane and I's room which has two twin beds, and some drawers, and a closet. Across from us is Allen's room, with a queen bed. There is a bathroom for all of us to use right next to Allen's room. In the other wing, is Mom and Glenn's room, which has a king bed and an adjoining bathroom. Mom keeps walking into my room thinking it's hers, it's really funny. She'll walk back, say "this is NOT my room!" and then stomp away. It's a little humorous. Anyways, that's my adventures in Texas so far.
We're also keeping a list of things that we saw in Texas that we never see in Maryland, which I will post when complete. That's all I have for you, and remember ladies and gentlemen, the best time to wear a striped sweater IS all the time.
Hugs and Cake,
Cowgirl Emily

There Ain't No Rest for the Wicked.
"For example, when I try to decieve, I have more nervous ticks than a Lyme disease research facility!" -Big Bang Theory.
I'm really starting to LOVE that show...oh, who am I kidding?! I loved it the second we started watching it! It's just so dang clever! It gets to the point where I'll start to act like Sheldon. For example, look at this conversation I just had with my friend Jordan.
Me: It's weird. I JUST went to the bathroom and now I have to go again! I'm choosing to ignore it.
Jordan: That's unhealthy.
Me: Not necessarily. If I don't go, holding it in is unhealthy, but on the other hand, if I do go that would be twice in 5 minutes which might lead me to the conclusion that there is something wrong!
Jordan: Oh.
Me: Yes.
*Conversation Terminated*
See?! It's so incredibly weird. Sometimes though I hope that I could be as clever and witty as that show. I can never think of good comebacks, or when I do, the certain person is already gone; in which case I text them and look like an idiot, so it's kind of counterproductive if you know what I mean.
ANYWHO. Today was my first day of freedom, and how did I choose to spend it you ask?? Oh, working at my mother's store. It wasn't necessarily bad if you discount the slaving hours, small amounts of food, horrible temperatures, and horendous company!
Just kidding....well...for the most part. I got to count 2105 rings today, and take stickers off every one of the little package that they were in. What happens if you break the package you ask?? You have to replace it! Again, and again and again. Oh! And then there was SOME excitement, I had to wait all day for my iPod to die! and I got hooked on some new music. But hey, at least it's not crack? I'd rather it'd be music and word searches than say...crack and prostitutes. Hm...is that safe to say?! Eh, what the hell.
I forgot to write about this in my last blog, but we went to the Stoney River Steak House on...hm..Sunday? Yeah I think it was Sunday. Anyways, there's all these tables around and then right in the center of the restaurant there's two couches. I'm not kidding you, 2 large couches with a table in between each. We always tried to sit there but I guess it was like VIP but we GOT TO SIT THERE! It was so exciting! It took a while to get used to because you would sink so that your chin was basically on the table, but we all sat on pillows and it got better. Dinner was delicious.
Then, last night I went to Chili's with my Dad. It was like a strange occurance of many weird events in a row. Well, when we got there, a storm was rolling in, so there was always the impending doom of a giant thunderstorm looming over the restaurant. Anyways, so we walk inside and go up to the person in front( What are they called?!) and I said ya know like "Two please?" She confirmed and reached for menus, but there were none left, so we had to scour the restaurant for another menu. We finally get seated, and our waiter comes up. He's a little too peppy for my taste, and I can tell that it's going to annoy me. He asks for the drinks and first offers me, little ole me, a margarita. Now I won't quarrel that I look older than my age, but I do NOT look 21, let alone like a person who would drink margaritas. I think if I was drinking, it'd be a nice big mug of beer but that's besides the point. So we order and he like grabs my menu out of my hands and is all " I LOVE this appetizer. Wanna try it?!" and my dad and I were like, "No. :/ can we just have a couple minutes?" and he was all "Sure, I'll go get your beverages :D" He was so deliciously awkward the whole dinner. Then, when I asked for a desert menu, he brought one and was like " I LOVE the Paradise Pie! You should get that one" and then mumbled something else but I don't remember. Anyways, I got cheesecake, just despite him (and I love the strawberry sauce, and there was walnuts in the Paradise Pie...and I. Hate. Walnuts. Never buy me walnuts, or I will slap you.) So we left Chili's and my dad and I went around Annapolis (I'm driving of course) BLASTING Tik Tok by ke$ha and dancing in the car. It was great :D
I'm pretty sure that's all I have to talk about....I'm going back to work at Mom's tomorrow, and I'll be sure to write about that interesting little experience tomorrow! I'm going to TRY and make this an every day thing, but I can't gauruntee(sp?!) that for when I'm in Texas or just when I'm REALLY tired. Hehe.
Hugs and Cake,
Emily
P.S.- I just finished all the levels in one of the free games on my iPod. Huzzah for me! :)

Don't You Know You're Beautiful?
So I'm going on a music flashback. For the past couple days I've been listening to Backstreet Boys and N*SYNC. Fun stuff mannn. It's great; I can't believe that I used to know ALL the words to every song.
This blog is basically for a bunch of different random things. First, I'm officially ADDICTED to word searches. I'm beast at them so it's okay, but I will literally do like 50 word searches in a day. I'm supposed to be studying for my precalculus and chemistry exam right now, but I don't think I need to. TOMORROW is the last day of school! I'm so excited?!
Also, the Next Food Network Star is back on with a new season! It's super good this year, but a lot of the people on it are just incompetant. I think that unless a lot of them can super increase their camera personality and learn some cooking skills, I already know who the finalist are going to be. But remember, this is coming from the girl who watched a common housewife win the show last year. The show that was made from last seasons' winner was REALLY bad. It was a good concept, but I definetly think that Jeffery should've won. And then there's the topic of Debbie. Now yes, Debbie was a good contestant and she had a great personality. But it gets to the point where when you have "I'm Korean" for EVERY excuse for your food, that's bad. I've decided that the second I turn 21 I'm auditioning for that show, and I'm determined to win. Food Network is just missing out on what I have to bring, personality wise of course.
I've also decided to reach this incredible goal, I should start early. Starting in July I will be producing my own cooking show on YouTube and Facebook. It's going to be all about different meals from around the world, and basically building upon a certain idea. I'm going to grab a random ingredient from any section in a grocery store, and build an entire course around that certain food. So look for "Why Not? with Emily (insert last name here)" <---sorryy, can't disclose that. I'll write a blog about the show when it's up, and be expecting a lot of special guest stars on it. Wouldn't it be amazing if Food Network watched it?! OMG. Haha, kinda makes you think.
I think that's everythin-OH! 2 more things. First, I started watching America's Got Talent, and I'm loving it. Especially the man that came on and sang opera from the Barber of Seville. I'll keep you updated on those.
Last, my predictions for Next Food Network Star
Winner: Paul-just because of his amazing personality on and off camera, oh and he can cook too.
Finalists: Herb, Dzintra and Aria
That's it for now! I'll be writing a lot more as I continue my treks to Texas and Ocean City this summer! Have fun...but not TOO much.
Hugs and Cake,
Emily

P-P-P-Poker Face
Hey Guys! I have a bunch to tell you for once!
I'm working on importing new pictures and the YouTube account so I'll have that set up for the summer! I can't wait until school is over and not for the usual reasons. I just don't want to deal with all the stupid people in my school anymore, haha. I've also remembered that I have this really cool software to import DVDs onto my iPod so that's also working at the moment. I'm pretty much a catcher-upper today; I'm working of course on the Hugs and Cake blog, and then the website which I'm redoing, and then updating my own facebook, as well as the Emma Bug's Custom Cakes pages and the Miss Nancy's Fancy Bakery ones. WHEW! It's a lot of work to run all of these things, but luckily, being the teenager that I am, I can stay up until the wee hours of the morning to work on this! Plus it's fun so that's a positive side. This week so far has been super boring, but I decided to give a little paragraph on important people in my life and in my school so that you people can keep tabs haha.
Me! I basically have been chilling a lot. Since the AP tests are over, I don't have to freak out so much and I don't have HALF as much homework during the week. I LOVE my B days now haha. Finals are coming up, but I don't really mind. We have half days during that time, so it's pretty easy. The only thing that reallyyyy sucks is that the LAST day of school I have to take my pre-calculus AND honors chemistry exams. I'm so not looking forward to that. Today was reallyyy exciting! I got to go on two wedding cake deliveries for work today and it was really fun being involved in all the wedding proceedings. Also, yesterday(Friday) a friend of mine named Kelly and I welcomed troops home at BWI. It was really emotional, but VERY powerful and I certainly hope to be going back and helping the people at Operation:Welcome Home again! That's pretty much whatever's been going on with me!
Mom: Mom's been pretty busy and SUPER stressed about this conference we have coming up in late June in Texas which I'm super excited for. She also decided to drop her crazy diets haha and finally listened to what I've been saying all along. Work has been going pretty well at the store and as always Mom's the happiest person around, most of the time. Mom and I are alone for this week while Glenn is in Wisconsin(more on that later) and tomorrow I think we're going to a flea market at the Naval Stadium and then a bluegrass concert downtown tomorrow night. It should be pretty fun, especially since I have Monday off.
Glenn: As I had said before, Glenn is in Wisconsin visiting his mommy and helping her move out of her house and packing for her new place in Texas I believe. He's also bringing me back a Sonic burger and a Bucky Badger shirt which is going to become my new favorite t-shirt. The uke business is going well and Glenn is working on a ukulele specially for me! It says Emily on it and it's super pretty! It's going to be amazingly shiny and I can't wait for it to be finished!
Friends: All my friends are basically the same as me. Exams are coming up and everyone is just totally ready for it to be summer.
*I would've made a paragraph about my Dad, but alas...the man is SO boring! Plus he never reads this so what really is the point?!
My personal cake business has been going pretty slow, but I'm hoping it will pick up more as summer comes for all my friends birthdays and such. It's going to be super fun. At work we're constantly busy; this being wedding season and all. We're donating some cookies to my school's Movie Night that raises funds for my sophomore/almost junior class. I'm not personally going, but I'll probably just deliver the cookies.
Last thing, new t.v. shows. Some of the old ones were canceled and some just came to an end. Most notably, LOST ended...it was sad and you know what?! NONE of my questions were answered, so Dear writers of LOST: poo on you. Love, Emily.
The family and I started watching Criminal Minds again and we started watching Big Bang Theory, and they're both REALLYYYYY good. I LOVE Big Bang Theory, it's so funny! People have been telling me to watch it before, but I just never remembered.
Anyways, I think that's all I have for you guys! Aren't you excited that this is a longer post than usual?! Leave a comment or contact me on Facebook if you have any ideas for weekly segments or things that you love to hear me talk about. Well...technically you're not hearing me talk about it, but you know what I mean.
Hugs and Cake,
Emily

I wish I could go to Kokomo with the Beach Boys..
"We don't care anymore.."- Cobra Starship (Guilty Pleasure)
And it's true. I would LOVE to be able to just NOT care anymore. Sadly, my AP exam is coming up..which I am not looking forward to...I can't even make myself think about it. The textbook just sits on my desk and glares at me menacingly as if to say " MEMORIZE ME OR DIE".
ANYWAYS, onto better subjects. What sucks is that I don't have any funny stories for you guys...it's sad. Um..today in ASL (sign language for those just tuning in) Mr Dobbs almost fell off a desk? I don't know, I thought it was pretty funny. MAN. I wish I had more to tell you guys....oh well. I guess as it gets closer to the end of the year, and AP exams are over I'll have a lot more. We'll figure it out.

Boogie Wonderland
"We should go back to the old monetary system...I'll trade you 3 chickens for kick-boxing lessons" -Emily
So I haven't written in a while, and probably won't be able to. Once it gets to be summer, I'll be writing a lot more 'cause I'll be doing a lot more stuff. Right now this is mostly my day:
6:20 AM-Drag my butt into the bathroom to get ready for the day
6:40 AM- Brave the morning at the bus stop
7:07 AM- Drag my butt to class, unless Emily woke me up while standing outside
7:15 AM to 2:05 PM- School....ugh.
2:40 PM- Talk to mom and/or Glenn. Go upstairs and shut myself in my room
2:45 PM to at least 6:00 PM- homework and freak out about AP Exams in a couple weeks.
6:30 PM to 10:00 PM- Dinner, and TV
10:01 PM- Drag my butt upstairs, pick out clothes for the next day, pack backpack..sleeeeeep.
6:20 AM- Wake up and do it all again.
So yeah, that's basically it. Not the best time to stalk me, just in case you were wondering. It would be pretty boring. Yesterday I was dancing around the house though, so I guess it could be interesting.
This was just a little post to let'cha know what's been goin' on and why I haven't been on in a while. Um..I think that's about it. OH! I'm writing a new short story, and I'll probably post those on my Facebook, and on here in 5 parts so be looking for those. The title would be "The Chessman Part I" first, so be on the lookout and let me know what'cha think. It's gonna be gruesome and dark, just to let'cha know.
Hope you're having an awesome spring! Can you believe it's almost May?!

FIRST OF EVERYTHING: YOU HAVE TO WATCH "SAD SAFARI MAN" ON LIVELAVALIVE'S CHANNEL (YOUTUBE). It's imperative that you do because if you don't......the world will end. SECOND!
the world ending. what's your take on that?! I don't think it will but I'm beginning to change that because of all these earthquakes and NATURAL disasters....hm. you think I would've put disasters in caps..oh well.
This is just a super quick blog, but I'll write another one later. TTFN,

Cause You Know How to Get Hip to my Heart.
Hey guys! So today was like one of the hottest days. It was like 80000000 degrees in my school cause they haven't turned on the AC yet, plus it was like 90 outside.
BIG NEWS! I got my learner's permit! I'm so excited! This means I can do some driving on my way down to Texas with my mommy.
*This is just gonna be a short blog cause I don't really have much.
I'm gonna add to this periodically tonight so the time will be in front like this:
6:57 PM: UGHHH I don't want to work on my chemistry essay.
6:58 PM: fine. *get's out chem binder* Might as well do it.
7:03 PM: Well..I guess it's okay if I talk to Emily while doing my homework..
7:05 PM: Emily makes me laugh, but SHUT UP 'cause I have to finish this essay!
7:07 PM: Due to extreme heat, I'm finding it hard to hold my pencil. Oh well, I'll just have to eat dinner instead.
8:53 PM: After dinner we watched LOST and V which were both really good. Now I'm gonna finish up my chem essay, and then chilll outt.
9:08 PM: Working on this essay, still having troubles with the heat. What am I gonna do when summer comes?!
9:28 PM: STILL BURNING HOT. Just finished the essay, off to make some copies of pledge forms for the SPCA March, and then get some new songs on my iPod.
I think that's about it. I'll check back in a couple days and tell you about my week and my first couple days driving! :)

Ostrich on my Desk.
"But without the bee it would just be an 'athroom' and what fun would that be??"- Uncle Allen you make my life.
WOW! I haven't blogged in so long!! I miss you guys...if anyone reads this. I'm chilling out with my bestest friend Katie right now, and she's walking on the treadmill beside me. I've been super busy. Lemme tell you about my spring break first.
My spring break was EPIC. I hung out with Emily a lot and we had a list of epic things, starting with FAME at school, which was reallyyy good for a high school production. I also got to go to work a lot which excited me :) We basically just did a lot of epic things but a couple things we didn't get done, but that's what summer's for. I can't wait. 50 days left of school! The countdown has started!
On April 18th, I'm doing the SPCA March for the Animals again, so I'm excited about that. A bunch of people that I love are coming, and a couple I hate(Emily) but that's okay. Haha. She knows I love her. My mom's friend Allen is coming too so that's awesome. The day before my boss, Karen( who is pretty much the coolest boss ever) is taking me to a cake decorating class in Bowie and we get to judge! I'm excited!! Also, Karen and I are entering a Raisin Bread contest in August, so wish us luck...even though that's like..forever from now.
I'm getting my permit tomorrow!! I'm so excited! I'm gonna drive all around the place! Also, I get to share some of the driving when I'm around the country during the summer. Reason I say around the country, just as a general term, is that I'm going to Texas for my mother's show for her store, then staying a couple extra days, then heading up to my mom's cousin's lake house in Missouri.
How was everyone's Easter?! I had a great one. Tons of candy. I also made a dove and a bunny out of bread :) Not to toot my own horn(which I love to do) but they looked AWESOME. OH! Question for you people, "Do you think the world's gonna end in 2012, and if so, will you throw a party, and if so, can I come? If not...well...go away."
I also got a Formspring if anyone wants to ask me quesstions, so that's coool. I think that's about it, there's other things but I really don't know. OH! Check out the song Down(Jay Sean Cover) by DaveDays on YouTube. It's so good, and some people like myself think it's better than the original, but that's just me.
That's it for now, I'll do another blog this week sometime. TTFN

So I totally clicked the publish button and it said like "an error occured, please hit your back button and try again." So I did, and my super super long post wasn't there..and it gave me a heart attack! But then I rememebered that it automatically saves and it was in a draft folder. THANK GOD! HAHAH I feel like an idiot, or as my mother says "igit"-the scotish idiot. Just felt I needed to update you guys on that. :)

"That car is too fast, this beer is too cold, and watchin' all this football is sure gettin' old....things that NEVER cross a man's mind" -Kellie Pickler
Hey there!! So I've been super busy this last week with all this homework. So guess what I discovered?! My spring break is like in 2 weeks!! I'm so excited 'cause we get TEN days! Longest spring break since like...ever.
So the woman with the St. Patrick's Day cake bailed, so..there's that. It's cool though 'cause when I told Karen all she had to say was, "Welcome to my world."which made me feel a little better. Ya know the phrase when one door closes a window opens? Well when I found out the woman cancelled, my friend Nora called me asking for a cake so that was pretty cool. Once I figure out how to put pictures on here..I'll start an album. For now you can always check out the pictures on facebook.
I'm not going to work this weekend 'cause Karen's taking the day off, which is really good 'cause she does SO much. She deserves it :)
The other day in ASL, American Sign Language in case you didn't know, we were telling super emotional stories. I was basically crying and then laughing throughout the whole class, except when I presented. That was more of a.... :0 face.
I'm LOVING this weather! It's soooo nice in MD, I feel bad if you're reading this from Canada. We feel your pain though cause we got 20 tons of snow over 2 weeks like a month ago...so..why do you live there?! Psh...canadians.
Today I watched The Singing Bee which is like a karoke game show on CMT and this guy just was TOTALLY sucking at every song. His name was Brian...so here's what I have to say to him: "Brian...if you're going on a singing game show again and I see you...I'm going to punch you in your face." Thanks Brian.
^^This comment got me in trouble with my friend Emily today at lunch. I said the same thing and she was like "yeah as opposed to punching me in someone else's face." which I thought was pretty funny so I basically laughed it off....just in spite of her. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to spite Emily. She's so fun...except I like insulting Becca more cause she doesn't hit back..which is good because according to Lizl I'm a "blind puppy in a shelter who everyone abuses" which isn't REALLY true except for a couple "friends" of mine.
I feel bad cause I'm talking about all these people you don't know, but if you did you'd like them. If you like my personality, you'll like them. I think that's about it for now...HAPPY SPRING..well not yet. but HAPPY AWKWARD MOMENTS DAY!
Remember, April 8th is NO SHOES DAY!
Hugs and cake,
Emily

"Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do..." so read my blog!
So the party last night wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. At first I was just like "no i'm not dancing" and I was just an awkward turtle, but my best friends(or enemies I'm not really sure at this time) pulled me out onto the dance floor. I danced until my legs gave out haha. It was a lot of fun but there was SO much drama...which is never good. I get enough of that at school without having to deal with it at parties. I've decided to have a "No Drama" party and everyone has to be chill and not complain or else they get thrown out. Personally I think that's a really good idea.
Right now, I wanna give a shoutout to my Uncle Allen in California. He's super geeky in a good way, and always reads my blog! Miss you Uncle Allen! Lovin' your comments :)
I've also been getting a lot of business for my cakes, which is always good. I'm super excited because this cake is kinda a big deal for me :) I went to work today, and Karen's gonna help me with it so we can make it as good as possible, and we'll split profits. She's such a cool boss, and so much fun to be around.
I discovered a lot of old music on my iPod and it's super catchy! OH! My friend and I in class the other day were talking about vampires and he was all "they sparkle!" and I was like "No...I'm pretty sure they eat your throat out", which made me happy cause then he just took that. It always makes me feel accomplished when I correct someone and they don't banter. It's just like "yeah that's right! take it!" *Pause for applause* <--I've always wanted a sign that says that...or maybe a t-shirt.
I think that's about it....I'll be watching you :0

April Showers bring May Flowers, or..something like that.
So today is a rainy day...I stayed inside for the most part considering I had school. ICK. Today was really emotional in ASL because we're learning to really express our emotions and while my teacher was signing his story, my friend Sommer and I just started balling. Besides that..today was a pretty good day. We had a test in chem and that was okay, and we got interims so 2nd period was shorter :) Yippee!
Enough of that boring stuff, now onto some cool things. I'm super excited to be making more custom cake orders for friends and...other people. Also, I'm concerned I'm going to get addicted to blogging because I was just watching a House episode and this woman blogged about everything, even when she was DYING! So that's a little concerning to me, but I guess I'll get through it, hopefully without dying.
Tonight I'm going to a party, which I'm not THAT excited about, but I'm excited. It's a sweet sixteen, which there seems to be a lot more of this year...The thing is there is 3 things I despise at parties: this kid whom I do not like who shall remain nameless for all intents and purposes, dancing, and huge crowds of people. Now...normally I'd be excited to be in a large group of my friends, but...I'm not really friends with these people, thus I'm not that excited to go. Anyway, I'm sure you don't really care about that...
I'm gonna upload more pictures to the facebook account and such.
Family updates: My mother right now is sewing buttons onto my favorite vest because I want to wear it tonight. Glenn...is at work? Yeah probably, it's 5:51 PM so he'll be home soon. The puppies are downstairs. It's gotten to a point where if Oreo (the devil chihuahua) is on the couch next to Mom and Greta tries to jump next to her...man'o'man. Oreo lunges at her throat attempting to rip it out. It's actually quite disturbing.
I think that's about it for now, check back tomorrow to hear ALL about the party tonight. Woot...

Emily

Great Great Day!
Today has been an awesome day! It's SO incredibly nice out. This is the best thing ever cause for the last like...what...2 months?! it's been super super cold and windy. Today it's like 60 and breezy. Katie and I are gonna go for a walk soon, and take my puppies. I'm excited :)
First thing, I uploaded a new video to my youtube vlog thing! YAY! I'm working on another, and they're gonna be up probably 1-2 times a week. OH! and the ants that were taking over my desk are gone! Well...mostly. I think I figured out what they were after, and I moved it, so they're gone! woot! Also, I have like NO homework which is also super exciting :)
This is so much fun! I keep telling my friends like "you should check out my blog!" and I feel so professional. It's like emailing, I always feel really professional when I email someone even if it's just "hi :)" Haha.
I just found a bunch of music on my iPod that I haven't listened to in SO long and I realized why I love it so much. It's great when things like that happen :)
I can't really think of anything else to tell ya, so I guess this is it...

Why Hello!
Hi HELLO! I'm Emily, and I love cake. That's basically everything you have to know about me.
I'm writing a blog because...I think it'll be fun. I'm psyched to be out there and talking to people who love cake just as much as I do, and eating it counts. I guess a little background would help. I discovered cake while watching Ace of Cakes on the Food Network, and I've been determined to get as good as they are. I soon started making my own cakes, and selling them to friends and family, which I continue to do now.
My Family:
My Mother...she's super supportive in my dreams of being a professional decorator.
Glenn, he's my step-dad and he's...let's see...unpredictable. He builds ukuleles!
My dad, he's supportive in the money field, seeing as he's bought most of the tools I use today.
Greta and Oreo, are my puppies and I love them dearly.
As you can see, I've got an extended famiy and they're all super supportive in whatever I want to do.
Well, since I've got the pretty much boring things outta the way. I've recently discovered that my desk which I do all my work on is being overrun by ants, and not even the terrifying kind. Just the little "pissants" that are just super annoying and small. So I don't yet know what to do about that yet...
I've been reediting my website and working on putting up a youtube channel so I can vlog as well as blog here. (see those links in the Other Places tab) The videos will probably be funnier than this but..to make it up to you, I'll try and put jokes on here. Just a few more little things I promise. I just saw Alice in Wonderland in 3-D and it was super cool. I definetely recommend it to anyone.
Remember to check us out on Facebook under Emma Bugs [Custom] Cakes. Yes, Yes the parentheses are necessary.
Here's your joke: I got this one from a MC at my school talent show:
3 men, named..Jim, Bill and Chris. These 3 men died, and went to Heaven. There's St. Peter standing at the pearly gates and he says "Men, up in Heaven you can have any car you ever wanted." So these 3 men got thier cars, and St. Peter says, "But there's one rule. You can't run over a duck, or you'll be stuck with one of the ugliest girls in Heaven." These 3 men deemed this acceptable, and went for a drive.
Jim is driving along, and all the sudden up through the clouds comes a duck! He hit it..and there's St. Peter standing there with the ugliest girl he'd ever seen.
Bill is driving along....duck, SPLAT, ugly girl. You get that part.
They're walking on the road and along comes Chris with one of the hottest girls they've ever seen. Jim says, " Man Chris, how'd you get a girl like that?" and the girl turns to him : "I hit a duck."
